Las Vegas range culture runs on optics-ready 9mms, and CZ's new DUTY 4.0 is built for exactly that crowd. The slide takes a red dot by direct mount, with fixed sights underneath, and the frame is fiberglass-reinforced polymer wrapped around a serialized chassis. The trigger is CZ's refined SFDA: 5.6 pounds give or take, 9 mm of travel, 4 mm of reset.

Choose the C compact if you want 15+1 in a gun that is 135 mm tall, or the F full-size for 17+1 and a fuller grip. Both come with or without a manual thumb safety, badged MS. Whether you shoot at a Henderson indoor bay, plink out past Pahrump, or carry in Reno or Sparks, it is the same 4-inch barrel and 7.4-inch overall length. Desert heat and dust are what polymer-framed strikers are made for, and at a $729 MSRP it comes in under a lot of the optics-ready competition.

Full-size means 17+1 rounds, a grip that takes the whole hand and a frame 5.6 in (143 mm) high. With the extended base plate the count goes to 19+1. Empty weight is 27.7 oz (780 g), which soaks up recoil without making the gun heavy on a belt.

This is the version with a manual thumb safety. The three automatic safeties (firing pin block, trigger safety, trigger bar safety) are the same as on every DUTY; the lever is an extra for people who were trained on one or simply want one.

What is new under the slide is the serialized modular chassis. The serial number lives on the internal chassis, not on the polymer grip, so the polymer grip is a part you can change while the gun stays the same gun. Around it CZ put a reworked SFDA striker trigger, rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) with a 0.16 in (4 mm) reset and 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) of travel, and a slide cut for direct-mount optics. CZ's own photos show it wearing Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dot sights.

The CZ DUTY 4.0 F MS suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: home defense, duty use, competition and long range sessions where the extra grip and two more rounds matter.

Order online, pick the Nevada dealer you want it sent to, and we ship the pistol there. Questions buyers ask: Is there a waiting period on handguns in Nevada? No. Nevada has no state waiting period and no permit to purchase; your dealer runs the background check when you pick the pistol up. Which red dots fit the DUTY 4.0 slide? It is direct-mount optics-ready, and CZ's own photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots on it. Check the footprint of your chosen optic against CZ's cut before you buy. Is the CZ DUTY 4.0 F MS the same gun as the F? Yes, apart from the manual thumb safety. Chassis, trigger, slide and the 17+1 capacity are identical.
