Las Vegas range culture runs on optics-ready 9mms, and CZ's new DUTY 4.0 is built for exactly that crowd. The slide takes a red dot by direct mount, with fixed sights underneath, and the frame is fiberglass-reinforced polymer wrapped around a serialized chassis. The trigger is CZ's refined SFDA: 5.6 pounds give or take, 9 mm of travel, 4 mm of reset.

Choose the C compact if you want 15+1 in a gun that is 135 mm tall, or the F full-size for 17+1 and a fuller grip. Both come with or without a manual thumb safety, badged MS. Whether you shoot at a Henderson indoor bay, plink out past Pahrump, or carry in Reno or Sparks, it is the same 4-inch barrel and 7.4-inch overall length. Desert heat and dust are what polymer-framed strikers are made for, and at a $729 MSRP it comes in under a lot of the optics-ready competition.

Pick the C when the gun has to disappear under a cover garment. It gives up two rounds to the full-frame model (15+1 against 17+1) and about 8 mm of grip height, and in return it is 5.3 in (135 mm) tall and 27.2 oz (770 g) light.

The MS model carries a frame-mounted external safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. Everything else, chassis, trigger, slide and optics cut, is the same as the version without the lever.

CZ built the DUTY around a serialized chassis that the polymer polymer grip wraps around, the same idea that lets a owner change frame size without buying a new serialized gun. The trigger is a refined SFDA striker unit, 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) pull, 0.16 in (4 mm) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel. The slide takes optics by direct mounting; CZ's product photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield units in place. Sights are fixed, the four-inch barrel is not threaded.

Who is it for: daily carry, a nightstand gun that also rides along, and new owners who want one pistol for everything. If you already shoot a P-10, the DUTY is the next step in the same family, with a new chassis and the optics done right.

Order online, pick the Nevada dealer you want it sent to, and we ship the pistol there. Nevada has no permit to purchase and no state waiting period; your dealer runs the background check when you come to collect, and you take it home once it clears. Ammo and gear go to your door. Live price and stock are checked when you order, before you pay.

Questions buyers ask: Is there a waiting period on handguns in Nevada? No. Nevada has no state waiting period and no permit to purchase; your dealer runs the background check when you pick the pistol up. Which red dots fit the DUTY 4.0 slide? It is direct-mount optics-ready, and CZ's own photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots on it. Check the footprint of your chosen optic against CZ's cut before you buy. What does MS mean on the CZ DUTY 4.0 C MS? Manual safety. It adds a thumb lever to the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety that every DUTY has.
