Springfield SAINT 300 Blackout Semi-Automatic Pistol With 9-Inch Barrel
If you have been looking for a compact platform that bridges the gap between a rifle and a traditional handgun, the Springfield SAINT 300 Blackout Semi-Automatic Pistol with 9-inch barrel is worth a hard look. This is a purpose-built firearm that brings the punch of the 300 Blackout cartridge into a short, maneuverable package. Whether you are setting up a truck gun or building out a personal defense system, this pistol delivers reliable performance right out of the box. We have had hands-on time with this model, and it handles like a much larger firearm thanks to the well-thought-out design from Springfield Armory.
Overview
Springfield Armory designed the SAINT line for shooters who want a ready-to-run firearm without the hassle of piecing together parts. The Springfield SAINT 300 Blackout Semi-Automatic Pistol with 9-inch barrel is no exception. It comes chambered in 300 Blackout, which means you can run supersonic hunting loads or switch to subsonic rounds for suppressed shooting. The 9-inch barrel keeps the overall length short, making it easy to stow in a bag or maneuver in tight spaces. Right away, you will notice the Armory Kote finish and the free-float handguard, both of which add durability and utility to an already solid platform.
Features & Specs
This pistol is built on a forged aluminum lower receiver with an integral trigger guard and a flared magwell for faster reloads. The upper receiver is also forged, and the barrel is a 1:7 twist, chrome-moly vanadium steel piece that handles both 120-grain and 220-grain loads without issue. Out front, you get a low-profile gas block and a full-length Picatinny top rail for mounting optics, lights, or lasers.
- Barrel and Muzzle: 9-inch chrome-moly vanadium barrel with a 1:7 twist rate. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, so attaching a suppressor or compensator is straightforward.
- Action and Controls: Direct impingement gas system with a nickel boron coated bolt carrier group. The charging handle is GI-style, and the safety selector is ambidextrous.
- Grip and Handguard: Springfield Armory branded pistol grip with a textured surface. The free-float handguard has M-Lok slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions for accessories.
One thing we appreciate is the inclusion of a Springfield Armory Hex Dragonfly red dot optic cut on the upper receiver, though you will need to supply your own optic if you want a red dot. The SAINT 300 Blackout pistol also ships with one 30-round magazine, a soft case, and a cable lock.
Who It’s For
This pistol is for the shooter who wants the ballistics of a rifle cartridge in a package that fits in a backpack. If you are a handloader or someone who already shoots 300 Blackout in a rifle, this is a natural companion. It also appeals to the prepper or home defender who values suppressed shooting. The shorter barrel keeps the overall weight down, and the 300 Blackout cartridge is inherently quiet when paired with subsonic ammo and a can. This is not a range toy for plinking at 200 yards; it is a close-quarters tool for the shooter who knows the limitations and strengths of the caliber.
